Large town garden with a swimming pond

This 25x22m garden faces north and is surrounded by a tall hedge. The clients are young professionals in their mid thirties, both keen gardeners. They wanted a secluded gazebo and a water feature, and so we decided to include a natural swimming pond, complete with a regeneration zone to keep the water clear year round. The terrace at the western end accommodates dining for eight people. Emphasis on is spring and autumn planting, although the planting is designed for year-round interest. Other key requirements included a wildflower meadow, a log store, and an area for bins and recycling.
